The Brief

Restaurant operations involve several interconnected workflows: taking customer orders, assigning tables, coordinating waiters, processing sales, and communicating order status to the kitchen. When these activities rely on disconnected tools or manual coordination, orders can be delayed, information can be inconsistent, and staff can lose visibility into the service workflow. Tapla addresses this challenge by bringing restaurant management, point-of-sale operations, table management, kitchen ticket tracking, and guest ordering into a connected platform. The key engineering challenge was to support the different interfaces used by customers, waiters, and restaurant operators while keeping order information and operational status aligned throughout the service lifecycle.

Approach

  1. 01

Developed a centralized application to support restaurant operations and bring core workflows into a unified digital environment.

  2. 02

Implemented order-taking and sales workflows to support staff handling customer orders within the restaurant.

  3. 03

Built table-management functionality to help staff coordinate seating and associate orders with the relevant tables.

  4. 04

Developed a kitchen-facing order board for tracking ticket statuses and making order progress visible to restaurant staff.

  5. 05

Built a dedicated interface for waiters to receive orders, manage their service workflow, and dispatch orders to the appropriate operational stage.

  6. 06

Developed a customer-facing interface that allows guests to place orders digitally, connecting the ordering experience with the restaurant’s internal operations.

  7. 07

Structured the workflows so customer orders could move through the restaurant’s service process, linking order placement, staff handling, and kitchen status tracking.

Result

Developed an integrated restaurant management platform connecting point-of-sale operations, table management, waiter workflows, kitchen ticket tracking, and digital guest ordering. Brought the main stages of the restaurant order lifecycle into a coordinated system, giving customers and staff dedicated interfaces for their respective tasks. The result is a unified digital foundation for restaurant service operations, designed to improve order coordination, provide clearer visibility into kitchen progress, and support a more structured workflow between front-of-house staff and the kitchen.
